Antoine Villoutreix Рle jour qui se l̬ve

This song is called “le jour qui se leve” – “the day breaking up”, but it also means “the day waking up”, we use the same term in french for this moment of the day.
Some time ago during a summer in Berlin, I was hanging out with Antoine on the roof of my building in Neuköln and he started to compose this melody. It was about getting up in the morning, some difficulties and some hopes …always repeating everyday…
Since then, it got a bit of a friendship’s song between us, he is playing it since a long time now, and it’s transforming everytime.
This last august, with the celloist Isabelle Klemt, we decided to record it in front of the Künstlerhaus Bethanien to get a nice version of it. it was extremely warm, the mosquitos were legion and we got lucky that we don’t really see them on the film.
